I still have scratches up my legs from leaping into brambles at my latest wedding, but it was WORTH IT.
Michelle and Dougie’s wedding was amazing! SO many memorable moments. One I certainly won’t forget in a hurry was leaping out of a taxi at the Crowne Plaza and tearing down Royal Terrace to the Omni Centre in search of a second taxi for the bridesmaids when the booked one failed to turn up. Thank goodness I wear sensible shoes to weddings! If anyone ever asks why I’m in my sparkly rose gold trainers and not in super smart shoes, boy do I now have an anecdote for them!
Despite the taxi kerfuffle and standard Edinburgh traffic delaying things a little (if it’s not trams, it’s tourists…or roadworks…or the St James refurb…I love you Edinburgh but oh you are horrendous sometimes), we were able to recover the lost time with some snappy portraits. Not going to lie, I was pretty proud of myself when I got home (and Michelle and Dougie get credit too for flawlessly remembering their engagement session and swooping into action!) – not only did we make the time back AND get some gorgeous portraits, we were actually AHEAD of schedule by the time the wedding breakfast was served. That was another highlight – the food was incredible! I’m a sucker for Yorkshires and gravy…and steak pie with puff pastry, yum.
Oh, and did the bride and groom get their post-ceremony portraits taken at Duddingston Loch or were they at Lake Como?! I can’t tell myself and I was there!
Michelle and Dougie, you were such a delight to work with, we were so pleased to be a part of your day. We could really see how happy you were to be married, your joy was infectious! I hope you guys had a wonderful honeymoon and that you love your highlights post!
