Lauren and Ian – Aberlady Village Hall

As an update to my last blog post, I’m sure you’ll be very pleased to know that I have now purchased a suitcase. As of this morning Bingley and the cats are happily ensconced at their gran-grans, so now there’s just a wedding tomorrow (at Dalhousie Castle, where we got married <3), a day of packing and a night at a Premier Inn between us and Tokyo. I’ve downloaded a bunch of new albums (Troye Sivan and Celtic Woman sitting next to each other in my recent purchases, think there’s some side-eye going on between them) and am armed with books, games and comics so I guess we’re good to go? I’m highly nervous, I don’t fly well, but also SO EXCITED! Ahem. I’m going to try and keep my Instagram stories updated with our trip so if you’re at all interested in Tokyo then be sure to follow along! Fair warning, it will likely mostly be shopping.

Lauren and Ian’s wedding was so much FUN. We went to the beach; I was ecstatic. I mean, I could probably end this blog right here, I love the beach that much. Is there anything better than a wedding dress, a suit and the sea? I don’t think so. When I get around to my own long awaited trash-the-dress session I have a firm vision of the West Coast and just running in to the water in my wedding finery. That’s not what we did with Lauren and Ian, they had a reception to attend after all, but that didn’t stop things from verging on epic. Just…scroll down and look!

Aside from the beach, can I just highlight the GORGEOUS Aberlady Village Hall? What a stunning place it is in it’s own right, yet you can still make it look however you want by bringing in your own taste and style. It’s also right next to the coast – we had our delicious dinner (seriously, we got steak pie, OH it was so good) sat on a bench facing the sea, contemplating how much we love our job! Lauren, Ian and their family were so sweet and made us feel so welcome; I don’t think anything could have pulled the smiles from their faces all day.
