Alex & Camilla -Caswell House , The Cotswolds

It’s been a busy few months for me, but I’m back with a lovely new Cotswolds wedding at Caswell house for you to peruse! As you might know, the Cotswolds is one of my favourite parts of the country and if I could spend the rest of my career working in wedding photography down there, I absolutely would!

Camilla and Alex are a special pair, as anyone who has met them can attest to. We first met when they literally flew themselves to Scotland (Alex is a pilot!) for their engagement shoot. We had a great time cavorting on the beach and so we were very excited to drive down to the beautiful Cotswolds to photograph their wedding. They were married at the stunning St Mary’s Church in Bampton, which some of you may recognise from Downton Abbey! From there we went to Caswell House for their elegant wedding reception. Caswell House must be one of the most quintessential Cotswolds venues I have ever seen, from the gorgeous stone buildings to the scores of climbing roses in full bloom. I was in heaven!

Truly, this was a day that was start to finish filled with smiles and picture perfect happiness. From the wonderfully special flyover performed by Alex’s friends to the little details such as the Lord of the Rings engraving inside of the wedding bands, everything was carefully thought of and right up my alley to be honest. Shooting outdoors surrounded by flowers with lots of happy people is exactly what I’m suited to. Add in delicious food, champagne brought over from France, a top tier wedding cake and jaw dropping florals, I don’t think it could have gotten any better. I also got to play the hero by saving Camilla’s dress from an unfortunate encounter with red wine during the wedding breakfast. I was very pleased to discover my little emergency bottle of super stain remover is effective against this kind of spill and I will have to import some more very soon, haha. And of course, I couldn’t leave without sneaking some special shots under the fairy lights at the bottom of the garden!
